Paul Hegarty 38mins 29secs Paula Hegarty 39mins 4secs inthe Terenure Sportsworld 5 mile road race.
Mark Melia took part in his seventh marathon of the year when coming in second at Clontarf in the East of Ireland Marathon series. Marks time was 3h20. The The east of Ireland marathon Series was formed to encourage all aspects of marathon running in Ireland, from participation to organisation. The group was set up by Ger Copeland and Frank Mc Dermott to make marathon running convienient and affordable
The Fingal Duathlon was staged in and around the National Aquatic Centre in Abbotstown on Sunday. A junior athlete from Trim AC, Conor DanielTrim AC completed the course in 1h08. His splits were 15.07 for the swim, 29.33 for the cycle and 21.16 for the 5km run at the end.

Schools 400 win for Harry


At the Leinster schools championships in Santry on Saturday Harry Purcell , Trim AC won the senior 400m in a time of 49.9 and was third in the 800m. Earlier in the week at the first day of the Leinster schools finals Nathan Grant finished third in the junior boys 100m.

Na Fianna AC 5km

Our neighbours at Na Fianna AC will stage their annual 5km road race from the Hamlet Hotel in Johnstownbridge on Tuesday evening. Runners will compete for the Bob Heffernan Cup awarded in memory of one of Na Fiannas founding members.



Leinster schools medal for Nathan

Well done to Nathan Grant who finished third in the Leinster schools 100m junior on Wednesday. Best of luck to all the members of the club in the Saturday events of the same championships.

The NAVAN AC 6km

Trim mens team finished second to Dunshaughlin in the Navan AC 6km  which commemorated Simon Cumbers and Paddy Hyland. The Trim team was led home by Sean Murphy, 2nd M40, Andrew Linsley and Conor Daniel, 1st JM. The other Trim individual category prizewinner was Ann Tobin 2nd W50.

Trim athletes take to the "Plains of Kildare"

The wide and windy plains of the Curragh hosted the 2013 Kildare 10km, half marathon and marathon Sunday.

First Trim finisher with another great marathon running performance was Maureen Lowther who ran 3.26, Mark Melia took part as the 3.30 pacer and was delighted to guide his charges home in a time of 3.29. The next Trim athlete home was Claire Smith in 3.39. Barry Clarke got under the 4 once again for the marathon when he came home in 3.57. Siobhan Payne was delighted to complet her first ever stand alone marathon (not part of a triathlon) in a time of 4.14.

In the half marathon Laura Cotter was delighted to record a time of 1.44  while Enda Gallagher crossed the line in 2.07.

Summary from Day 2 T&F in Claremont


Sunday 12 May will be remembered in Meath athletics circles for the fact that the weather conditions were more in keeping with mid winter cross country than the staart of the track and field season.

There was a good turnout from Trim AC at Claremont with a some very notable performances.

 Lili O Connor put in a great effort to win the girls under 11 60m. Allanah Gonsalves jumped 4.10m into a strong head wind to win the girls under 16long jump. In the boys under18 400m Harry Purcell showed a great turn of speed in the finishing straight to record a 50.15 victory. At the end of the day Luke Mahon put in a great front running effort to win the boys under 14 1500m in 5.25 ahead of versatile team mate David O'Neill who had recorded a throws double in the morning with wins in the javelin and discus.

Masters treble for Moira Aston

There was a treble for Moira Aston at the first day of the Meath track and field championships at Fr Murphy grounds in Frayne. Moira won the womens masters hammer,discus and weight for distance.

On the road again.



Summerhill 10km & 4km
John Lee put in a great performance to finish second overall in the Summerhill 10km on Sunday. He crossed the line in 38.14 behind Declan Fahey, Tullamore Harriers. In the womens race Ellen Vitting time of 43.24 for fourth place overall. Pat Comey ran 42.12 and was the first M60. The other Trim results were Andy Reilly,43.24, Barry O'Callaghan,45.06,Denise Molloy,47.38,Heather Carty,48.50,Valerie Malone,49.10,Mary Carr,49.21,Paul Hegarty,49.23,Paula Hegarty,49.31,Mairead McMorrow,49.59.Mark Boshell,50.19,Monica Heavey,51.43,Mairead Heffernan,51.48.
Taking part in the 4km race were Aiden Flynn and his son Colm who finished together in 21.37 and Michael Hegarty,22.42.
Belfast Marathon
The Belfast River Rock Marathon took place on Monday 6 April. Mark Melia running yet another marathon recorded a time of  3.24, Andrew Linsley was next home for Trim in a time of 3.30. The club treasurer was out biking around the course with nourishment and encouragement. His daughter Catheine Browne ran it in 4.51. Also taking part was Kevin Horan in a time of 4.04.
Boyne 10km
In the Boyne 10km at Drogheda Mark Leaney ran 50.38 over a nice course which took runners from the centre of Drogheda to historic Oldbridge returning along the river the a town centre finish.




Next up in the area will be the Navan AC 6km on Friday.
