Athletics Ireland in association with mycharity.ie put a new event on the
athletics calendar last weekend with the Remembrance Run in the Phoenix Park.
Well over one thousand runners took part in this event. Race director Frank
Greally described it as having a special remembrance theme of family or
friends who have passed on, or who are currently struggling with illness or
other life challenges.
"The month of November is a time of remembrance
for everyone at year's end -
an ideal time to remember family or friends
passed and present, and to
celebrate our own gift of days,"
Taking part from Trim AC were Brian Cully who completed the course in 21.47
and Laura Cotter 23.22
.On Saturday morning Ann Tobin finished fifth woman
in the MCD 8Mile trail
run around the Phoenix Park.
