Great day at Leinsters

The grounds of Charles Stewart Parnells home at Avondale, Rathdrum was the venue for the Athletics Leinster 2012 even ages, novice and masters cross country on Sunday. The persistent rain made the going difficult for the runners.

Trim AC had a number of juvenile runners on county teams which medalled in the inter counties competitions. The county team won the boys under 14 title and Trim had David O’Neill on the squad. In the girls under 14 inter county our club was represented by Hannah Gilligan Aoife McDonnell and Niamh Fahey. This team also took the top honours.  Andrea Hiney, Caoimhe Rowe, Lilian Brady were on the girls u12 which performed very well .

In the masters categories Brian Cully and Ciaran Tobin were members of the Meath squad which finished just four points ahead of Dublin in the M50 inter counties. In the master womans county battle Dublin edged out the Meath woman by three points. Ann Tobin finished third in the W50 grade.

The next provincial action will take place at Dunboyne on Sunday 11 November. Starting at 12 noon. Down for decision will be u/11/13/15/17 and intermediate championships. Later in the month Tattersalls cross country course at Fairyhouse will be the venue for the Athletics Ireland national even ages and county championships.
